When the fires of life rage, who do you turn to for relief?
Despite his objections, Moses followed the calling of God and went before the most powerful man in Egypt to command him to free the children of Israel--God's people--from bondage. But Pharoah not only refused to release the Hebrews, he placed more burdens on them. Faced with greater hardships, who will God's people turn to for help?
This week we continue reading Exodus 5 and see the leaders of Israel plead for relief from their burdens to the one who placed the burdens on them in the first place. We'll learn how this response showed their deeper identity problems, and we'll examine our own lives to discover whether we're turning to our own strongholds to save us, or to the only Savior, Jesus Christ.
