youth Ministry

7th-12th Grade

Summer Camp 2022

Youth summer camp is coming up this July! All students from 6th-12th grade are welcome to join us as we spend 6 days at Alpine camp, retreat, and conference center in San Bernardino County, CA.

During their week at camp, students will grow deeper in their relationships with God as they learn from His word, spend personal devotional time reading the Bible, attend chapel, and worship together. The students also get a change to take a break from everyday life and play paintball, go ziplining, swim, and make new friends in a safe environment.

what is youth ministry?

Youth Ministry is Hosanna's ministry for 7th-12th graders. During Sunday services and at additional youth events, kids in this age group learn about God in a way they can understand, while having an outlet to ask questions and develop relationships with other Christians their age as they begin to make their faith their own.

Youth Ministry Mission Statement

Youth Ministry focuses on discipleship to help kids learn about how to live out their faith and grow into strong believers of Christ. We teach them the entirety of scripture verse by verse, give them opportunity to ask questions, and help them apply scripture to their lives as they seek to know the truth, live the truth, and share the truth, all while having a blast with other believers.

MEET THE LEADERSHIP

All staff and volunteers are vetted and trained by Protect My Ministry. To learn more about a leader, click on their name.

Rik Ice is a Pastor at Hosanna Christian Fellowship. Rik started attending Hosanna in December of 2009 after his friend invited him to a Friday night high school hang out event. Rik volunteered in children's ministry from 2010-2011, then after graduating high school, became a Jr. High counselor. Rik had many jobs, but always felt a call to do Youth Ministry. With the guidance of God and support of his wife, Rik has been working at Hosanna since March 2020, and is now running Youth Ministry, Young Adult's, Men's Ministry and overseeing facility maintenance in the church.

Kirk Spicer has been attending Hosanna Christian Fellowship with his family since 1990 when he was less than a year old. He grew up attending children's church and youth ministry and began serving at Hosanna with sound/media while still in high school. He continued to volunteer with the High School Ministry while in college, and later led the Jr High Ministry for a few years before the two ministries eventually became one Youth Ministry. He's continued faithfully volunteering his service while working outside jobs. In 2022, Kirk began working at Trinity Christian School as a seventh grade teacher while continuing as a counselor in the Youth Ministry.

Noah Stephens was raised in the Christian faith, and has continued to strengthen her relationship with God in her adulthood. She began attending Hosanna in May of 2022, and began volunteering wherever she was needed. She has always felt a calling to Youth Ministry, and in August of 2022, God presented the opportunity to join the Youth Ministry as a counselor, and she has been serving there since.

Joshua started to attended Hosanna Christian Fellowship in November 2022. As soon as he started following Christ, he always had a heart for youth ministry. If you don’t raise up a younger generation who’s going to be able to lead, who’s going to be able to take the baton and keep running the race? The opportunity arose in September 2023 for Joshua to become a youth counselor, and he’s looking forward to showing the youth what it looks like to live as a Christian.

Samantha Picasso began attending Hosanna in November of 2022. She has always felt a calling to Youth Ministry, and in September of 2023 God presented the opportunity to join the Youth Ministry as a counselor, and she has been serving there since.
