Many of us would like a Jesus who comes into our lives and fixes all of our external circumstances. This is what the disciples were expecting in Mark 8 when Jesus asked them who they thought he was. They learned quickly that Jesus was coming first to suffer and die, to change the internal circumstance of our sinful heart first. Through that, the external circumstances of our lives can be changed.
