Pre-K is our children's church ministry for ages 2-3. Once kids are ready to start playing more independently, color, and make crafts, they start Pre-K.
At Pre-K kids will play, make a craft or color, and have snack time.
If your child is able to play well with others and be part of Bible study and craft time, they can likely still be in the Pre-K room. However, we do have a staffed sensory room for all ages that is perfect for children having a rough day, angry outbursts, or if children need a more peaceful and secluded space to feel more at ease.
Absolutely. Many moms and dads prefer to stay with their younger children, especially while their children get used to being left in Pre-K during service. We do require, though, that any parents in Pre-K on a regular basis helping with children that aren't theirs complete a background check and complete abuse awareness and prevention training.
All parents keep their phone number on record with the nursery so we can reach you in case of an emergency. Additionally, all of our volunteers are vetted with background checks and receive training from Protect My Ministry. For cleanliness, we also clean all toys regularly and clean the changing table between each child. For safety in check-in and check-out, we use Planning Center. To pre-register your child with Planning Center and help your visit go smoothly, use the arrow to scroll down and click on "Register a Child" at the bottom of the page.
Your child does not need to be potty trained to attend Pre-K. We do, however, ask that you change their diaper prior to dropping them off and that you understand that their diaper may not be changed during class. If a diaper change is necessary, there is a changing table in Pre-K but they will be brought to the nursery to have their diaper changed.
All of our volunteers have been vetted by Protect My Ministry to work with children and have been trained to work with children. You can read more about them below.
Once your child turns 4 and is potty trained, they graduate to Hosanna Kids! You can view the Hosanna Kids webpage here.
